Man in RS Pura apprehended under PSA

In the Jammu district’s RS Pura subdivision, an alleged hardcore criminal was held on Sunday under the harsh Public Safety Act (PSA) on charges of several offenses.

The guy, named Arnia resident Raman Kumar, has been charged under the Public Safety Act for his ongoing, systematic engagement in criminal activity that endangers public safety and order, according to a police officer.

Despite being repeatedly filed in many FIRs against him by different police stations in the districts of Jammu and Samba, “the accused did not mend his behavior by refraining from his involvement in criminal activities,” the source said.

“Kumar was arrested by police in several cases, but the substantive law was insufficient to curtail his criminal activities, and he continued with them, thereby posing a great threat to the public at large,” the speaker added.

He was engaged in actions that may have disturbed peace and order in the community, especially in the Jammu district and police subdivision of RS Pura.

According to police records, the infamous criminal was the target of eleven FIRs. “The accused was ordered to be detained under Section 8 of PSA by the orders of the District Magistrate, Jammu, keeping in mind their activities, as these amount to propagating criminal activities,” the source said.

“Taking proactive measures to maintain peace and order as well as taking strict legal action against notorious criminals is one of J&K police’s top priorities, along with action against hardcore criminals,” the official said.
