Nadda: A Promise Of Loot If Congress And Baghel Are Re-Elected In Chhattisgarh

The president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, JP Nadda, said on Sunday that corruption and the Congress were closely linked, and that re-electing the incumbent party in Chhattisgarh would be a “guarantee of loot”.

Two days before the assembly election polls, Nadda addressed a public gathering in Pendra town, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district, saying that the Congress engages in corruption wherever it has political power.

He stated, “They committed scams in liquor, rice, cow dung, teachers’ transfer and Public Service Commission recruitments,” aimed against the Bhupesh Baghel regime. They perpetrated a Rs 5,000 crore fraud (the alleged betting app scandal) without even mentioning Mahadev’s name. According to Asim Das, Bhupesh Baghel received Rs 508 crore for the elections.

Nadda made his comments two days after the Enforcement Directorate, which was looking into the Mahadev betting app “scam,” stated that “startling allegations” had been made about the betting app promoters’ payments of approximately Rs 508 crore to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel based on forensic analysis and a statement provided by a “cash courier.” “These are subject matter of investigation,” the agency said.

Baghel refuted the accusations.

After the ED in the state that is about to hold elections retrieved Rs 5.39 crore from the courier, Asim Das, the federal agency claimed that he had been detained.

The two sides of the same coin are Congress and corruption. While promoting party candidates Prabal Pratap Singh Judev (Kota seat) and Pranav Marpachchi (Marwahi segment), the BJP president said, “Where there is BJP, there is development and growth, and where there is Congress, there is corruption, deception, and loot.”

The “confirmed guarantee of PM Modi,” he said, is development; whereas, “bringing Baghel and Congress back to power meant the confirmed guarantee of loot.”

On November 7 and 17, there will be two stages of voting for 90 seats.
