Now, the world pays close attention to India: Rajnath Singh

According to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the vision of a developed India is no longer simply a pipe dream but is instead quickly becoming a reality.

At a function in Lucknow for UPSC Civil Services Exam winners, he remarked, “The stature of India at international forums has increased in the past nine years, and the world now listens to us attentively.”

Rajnath pointed out that a superpower like the United States was now carefully preparing to welcome and host the Prime Minister of India, and that the international media was also discussing the nation’s success story.

He emphasised the Prime Minister’s goal of having a developed India by 2047 and stated the young public workers are essential to creating such a country.

“You have a great burden on your shoulders. You will be serving when the nation has entered the Amrit Kaal. The nation will be celebrating its 100th year of independence when you finish serving in 2047, he remarked.

“I want you to be ready for the trials that lie ahead. Together, we can overcome them and lead India towards development, the defence minister remarked.

He urged public officials to gain the confidence of the populace by actively interacting with them and meeting their hopes and goals. He emphasised that if officials interacted with the public more freely, people’s confidence in democracy would grow significantly.

Rajnath emphasised that as society advanced down the road of development and wealth, the feudal structure and attitude were waning. In such a context, the capacity of bureaucrats and leaders was determined by their ability to live up to the hopes and ambitions of the populace.

“There used to be a culture of authority in the society, but now that people are becoming more educated and aware thanks to the development of new communication technologies, the culture of justification has surpassed the culture of authority,” he said.

He emphasised the importance of the role of public representatives in democratic governance and said that civil servants should pay close attention to what they say and take their advice because in a democracy, the people’s representatives represent their aspirations.

He criticised the practise of excessive political meddling in local governance but advocated for the people’s representatives, who stood in for the nation’s average residents, to provide leadership.

They will undoubtedly bring up before you topics that pertain to their constituency since they are the representatives of the people. Therefore, you must collaborate closely with local elected officials, he said.

He was impressed by how well women have done in previous civil service tests. Every time they had the chance, “our daughters have brought laurels,” he said.
