NSG exercises to assess preparedness for terrorism

New Delhi: To better prepare for any terrorist threats, the National Security Guard (NSG) conducted a number of simulated exercises in several metropolitan areas, including the Parliament.

The goal of these exercises is to keep vigilance levels high and guarantee a quick and efficient reaction to any real-life scenario.

The NSG gave a demonstration of their talents in Parliament on Friday, showing how they would handle an emergency situation.

During the exercise, NSG commandos made a risky helicopter landing on the Parliament House roof. A crucial component of the practice was putting the commandos’ ability to land on the structure swiftly and securely to the test.

Throughout the exercise, the helicopter served two purposes. It was utilized not just to drop commandos but also to scan the region from the air.

The exterior security preparations came under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Police. The commandos were shown in a video of the exercise expertly rappelling down from the chopper onto the Parliament’s terrace. Another mock drill was held at RK Puram, southwest of Delhi.
