Odisha: Murder of a businessman in Surat caused by rivalry

The murderers of a booze dealer from Surat who was discovered brutally slain in Polasara two days ago were allegedly identified by Ganjam police on Wednesday.

On February 26, the lifeless corpse of Hemant Kanak Gohil, a 45-year-old inhabitant of Udana in Surat, Gujarat, was found in a home close to Bazar Sahi Chowk in Polasara.

Ganjam S.P. According to Jagmohan Meena, a quarrel over the illicit liquor trade led to the murder of Gohil by three young people from Polasara town: Gauri Pradhan (35), Surjya Sahu (32) and Abhi Pradhan (34). After perpetrating the crime, the suspects are now at large.

Meena claimed that Gohil and the defendants were engaged in an illicit liquor trade in Surat. During the illicit transaction, there had been a disagreement between them. Gohil used to visit Polasara on a regular basis and developed a number of friends there while on business. He eventually became engaged in illegal activity, and the Polasara police station received at least three charges against him.

Ten days ago, Govil traveled to Odisha to attend a hearing in one of the cases. The president of the BJD’s Polasara town unit, Ranjit Sahu, leased out a home from which he was residing on the first floor. The SP was notified after his corpse, which had many injuries, was discovered inside the home two days ago.

According to the autopsy report, he had been stabbed in the stomach and other areas of his body, as well as had a gunshot wound to the head. At first, it was thought that Govil was killed due to a political rivalry. Police discovered his illicit operation during their inquiry, and after speaking with residents, they gathered video from the CCTV cameras that were placed at Bazar Sahi Chowk. The CCTV video was then utilized to identify the three offenders.

According to Meena, the accused were hunting for a chance to get rid of Gohil. They broke into Gohil’s rented home on that fateful day when he was asleep. They killed him with sharp weapons after shooting him at close range.

Several groups are conducting raids in several locations, like as Khurda, Bhubaneswar, and Khallikote. The SP said that the three accused will shortly be apprehended.
