On Independence Day, the Prime Minister will have two female officers assist him in unfurling the national flag at Red Fort

On Independence Day, two female officers, Major Nikita Nair and Major Jasmine Kaur, will accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi in raising the National Flag at Red Fort.

It was announced on Sunday by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) that it would be synchronized with the 21 Gun Salute, which will be performed by the brave gunners of the elite 8711 Field Battery (Ceremonial).

 

On the occasion of Independence Day, as soon as the National Flag is unfurled by the Prime Minister, flower petals will be rained at the location by two Advanced Light Helicopters Mark-III Dhruv of the Indian Air Force flying in the Line Astern Formation.

 

According to the ministry, the Guard of Honour contingent for the Prime Minister would include one officer and 25 troops from the Army, one officer and 24 personnel from the Air Force, one officer and 25 personnel from the Navy, and one officer and 25 men from the Delhi Police.

 

“After inspecting the Guard of Honour, the Prime Minister will proceed to the ramparts of the Red Fort, where he will be greeted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff, Army, Navy, and Air Force chief. “After inspecting the Guard of Honour, the Prime Minister will proceed to the ramparts of the Red Fort. After the Prime Minister has lowered the Tricolor, he will be honored with a “Rashtriya Salute.” The National Anthem will be performed by the Army band, which is comprised of one JCO and 20 Other Ranks. This will take place during the unfurling of the National Flag and the presentation of the “Rashtriya Salute.” Naib Subedar Jatinder Singh is going to be in charge of conducting the Band.

 

At the moment when the Prime Minister unfolds the National Flag, the National Flag Guard, which is comprised of five officers and 128 Other Ranks from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police, will perform the Rashtriya Salute. The Indian Army is the coordinating service for this year, according to the defense ministry’s announcement. They also said that the platform had been used to distribute 17,000 electronic invitation cards.
