Today, the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lakhowal) had a meeting at this location. The union discussed arrangements for their upcoming trip to Delhi on March 14 to attend the mahapanchayat during the meeting.

The BKU (Lakhowal) president, Harinder Singh Lakhowal, addressed the gathering and said that the Samyukt Kisan Morcha has issued an invitation to attend the mahapanchayat, which would take place in the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on March 14.

According to what he claimed, other unions had determined that on March 13, they would go to Delhi by bus or train.

“We will go to the Ramlila Maidan at 10 am on March 14th to attend the mahapanchayat. Farmers are adamant and won’t give up until their demands are met, according to Lakhowal.

In addition to a legal guarantee for MSP, farmers are demanding the following: the reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, the implementation of the recommendations made by the Swaminathan Commission, pensions for farmers and farm laborers, no increase in electricity tariffs, the withdrawal of police cases and “justice” for the victims of the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in 2021, and compensation for the families of farmers who lost their lives during a previous agitation in 2020–21.
