PM Annamalai conducting “people darshan yatra”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshows were criticized by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palniswami one day later. TN BJP president K Annamalai took issue with him, stating that it was a “people darshan yatra” rather than a roadshow.

Thursday, Annamlai addressed the media and said, “How many people will attend if EPS performs a roadshow? People won’t come see Palaniswami if he embarks on a tour. As a result, they gather individuals, have them read aloud from what they have written, and force them to sit in a tent. However, people flock to visit Prime Minister Modi and he comes to see them. The roadshow is known as the “people darshan yatra.”

In response to a question about Minister TRB Rajaa’s remarks that the BJP comprises a number of anti-social elements among its members, the minister said, “Those who sell alcohol and murder hundreds of people are calling us anti-socials. Rajaa’s father sells booze. It’s a comedy.

Additionally, Annamalai disclosed that a company purportedly associated with the chief minister’s son-in-law had spent Rs 7.33 crore on DMK advertising. He said that “people are waiting with neem leaves to drive away the demon of money politics in Coimbatore.” The false narrative that was meticulously constructed against the BJP in Tamil Nadu is gradually being dismantled, and this election will utterly demolish that narrative.

He also claimed that he was being watched by the governmental intelligence branch. Annamalai said that Tamil Nadu was engaging in the same practices as Telangana, citing the allegations against police personnel and the phone-tapping episode. He continued by saying that a state police surveillance squad had been following him throughout Coimbatore and had sent reports to TRB Rajaa, who then sent them to the imprisoned former minister Senthil Balaji. “After the state’s government changes, we will return with all the records, and everyone who participated in the tapping should give an explanation.”
He went on, “All I want to do is honest politics. I have no desire to become the CM.”
