President Murmu and PM Modi honor the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh atrocity

In addition to sharing a film that described the tragedy and highlighted the victims’ unmatched bravery and sacrifice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respects to those who perished in the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

In a post on X PM, he said, “On behalf of my family members across the country, I pay my heartfelt tribute to all the brave martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.”

In addition, President Droupadi Murmu paid respect to the liberation warriors who gave their all for the country in Jallianwala Bagh, remembering the victims of the slaughter. The heroic individuals who gave their lives in defense of Swaraj will always have our gratitude. I have no doubt that the victims’ sense of patriotism will continue to motivate future generations.”

In one of the most horrific episodes of British colonization of India, hundreds of peaceful protestors opposing the Rowlatt Acts, which gave the colonial government oppressive powers, were shot and killed by British soldiers without cause.

In addition to paying respects to the victims, Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked, “Jallianwala Bagh’s courageous martyrs made a priceless contribution to the nation’s independence cause.

“A live example of the brutality and inhumanity of British rule is Jallianwala Bagh. This atrocity ignited the revolutionary fire that had been dormant in the hearts of the people, turning the independence movement into a popular battle. “Jallianwala Bagh’s self-respecting citizens are a never-ending source of inspiration for sacrifice and devotion for the country first,” he said.

Additionally, Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, highlighted the sacrifices made by the people of Jallianwala Bagh.

“Remembering the martyrs who were killed on this day in 1919 at Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar. I honor their extraordinary bravery and selflessness. He wrote on X, “Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
