Prior to PM Modi’s arrival, Jammu established a no-drone zone

In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to J&K on February 20, when he is expected to inaugurate several important projects and kickstart the election process, the Jammu district has been declared a no-fly zone for drones and quadcopters.

In accordance with Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, Jammu District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya issued a thorough order while keeping in mind intelligence assessments identifying possible security risks. The prohibition is in effect until February 20. Drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, hand gliders, paragliders, paramotors, and hot air balloons are all prohibited inside the area. Security forces are excluded from the prohibition order.

According to an official, the precautionary step was put in place to thwart potential terrorist and anti-national activity.

Since the PM will also be launching the famed AIIMS project in Samba, which is situated along the Pathankot-Jammu route, security has also been bolstered along this stretch of road.

In front of approximately 1 lakh people, the PM will address a rally at Jammu’s MA Stadium under special security. There, he is expected to discuss the post-Article 370 age and the Central Government’s initiatives. Before the Lok Sabha elections, this rally is the first in a series. Random vehicle inspections are being carried out by the CRPF and the police. In addition to the entrance and departure points in Jammu and Srinagar, checkpoints have been installed at other locations.

Additionally, security personnel are monitoring the regions of Rajouri and Poonch, which have recently been hubs for terrorism. The terrorists responsible for the Poonch ambush on December 21 are still at large. The ambush in the Surankote region claimed the lives of four troops.

Additionally, it is anticipated that the PM will remotely start the first train on the Sangaldan-Baramulla rail connection.

The PM, according to BJP spokesman for J&K YV Sharma, has taken a number of actions to elevate the previously “forgotten,” such as providing reservations for Paharis and other tribal people, women’s seats in the legislature, and refugees from 1947.

The recently constructed Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu campus, Jagti, will also be opened by the prime minister.

The PM will officially open the IIM-Jammu’s new campus in Jagti on Tuesday. According to BS Sahay, the school’s director, the 200-acre site cost Rs 500.91 crore to build. It illustrates IIM-Jammu’s dedication to provide top-notch facilities that support students’ overall growth. He remarked, “The new campus, which has state-of-the-art amenities including smart classrooms, was finished in record time.
