Punjabi officials’ homes are searched by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Guava Orchard Scam

According to official sources, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) searched several places in Punjab on Wednesday in relation to a money-laundering investigation involving an alleged “scam” involving payments for guava plantations.

An ED team from Delhi conducted a search at IAS officer Varun Roojam’s Chandigarh home. He serves as Punjab’s Commissioner of Excise & Taxation.

The Ferozepur DC house Also examined was Rajesh Dhiman.

In the guava scandal, some people planted guava plants on property that GMADA was about to buy in an attempt to garner a higher price for the land. This resulted in the misappropriation of over Rs 130 crore.

The State Vigilance Bureau was looking into the swindle. Up to now, the swindle has resulted in the arrest of around 20 people.
