Q&A: Gidugu Rudraraju predicts that Congress will reclaim lost support in Andhra Pradesh

Even though the Congress hasn’t been able to get even one seat in the elections of 2014 or 2019, former PCC chairman and CWC member Gidugu Rudraraju has decided to run for office from the Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha constituency in the hopes of winning. Gidugu Rudraraju expressed optimism in the Congress regaining its lost foothold in the state during an interview with KV Sailendra.

Given that the state’s Congress was completely destroyed during the split, what are your prospects of winning the election?

With the TDP and YSRC administrations failing on all fronts following bifurcation, the Grand Old Party has a bright future. As part of my election campaign, I visited the Lok Sabha constituency’s Rajamahendravaram Urban, Rural, and Rajanagaram Assembly constituencies and spoke with a variety of individuals. People are furious with the N Chandrababu Naidu and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administrations for failing to fulfill their pledges of bifurcation, even after ten years, as seen by the enormous reaction I have received. In my opinion, the Congress will make up ground lost in the elections.
What about the opposition from the BJP and YSRC?

They don’t seem like very good choices to me. Being a native, I have a close relationship with the people of Rajamahendravaram, a former Congress stronghold. With the exception of being the daughter of TDP founder and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao, BJP candidate Daggubati Purandeswari has no standing. She’s thinking about taking the seat. My goal is to win the election by defeating the BJP. In addition, while being a skilled physician, YSRC candidate Dr. G Srinivas has no prior political experience. A good guy in the wrong party, that’s him. In order to gain the public’s confidence throughout my election campaign, I shall highlight the shortcomings of the TDP and YSRC administrations.
QHow would you rate YSRC and TDP?

The two regional parties have bankrupt agendas and lack a national perspective. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s control, the two parties have turned into puppets. Regretfully, throughout the last two administrations, the people of AP have allowed themselves to be duped by both anarchist and totalitarian parties. The promises made by the Center at the time of bifurcation have not been fulfilled by either the current YSRC government or the former TDP administration. For AP’s bright future, I urge the people to eliminate the two regional parties.
What kind of marketing strategy will you be using?

As part of her campaign, AAPCC head YS Sharmila Reddy would travel the whole state. This month, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi of the Congress, as well as AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, are scheduled to speak at public gatherings around the State. Our base would be strengthened by the grassroots cadre who defected from the party and joined the YSRC. They are keen to rejoin Congress. Along with hosting gatherings on street corners to win people over, I want to thoroughly explore each of the seven Assembly districts that make up the Lok Sabha seat.
