Rahul Gandhi’s message for the Bharat Jodo March Anniversary is “Yatra Continues Until Hatred is Eradicated, India is United”

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, said on Thursday that the Bharat Jodo Yatra would continue till all forms of hate are eliminated and India is united, marking the one anniversary of its beginning. Gandhi also posted a video montage of his almost 4,000 kilometer Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, which he began on this day last year, on the social media platform X.

Gandhi said on his website in Hindi that “the crores of steps of Bharat Jodo Yatra towards unity and love have become the foundation of a better tomorrow for the country.” “The path goes on till hate is eliminated and India is united. This is my commitment, the former leader of the Congress said. Gandhi spoke at 12 public gatherings, more than 100 street corner gatherings, and 13 press conferences throughout the yatra. He had more than 275 scheduled exchanges while walking and more than 100 when sitting.

According to some observers, Gandhi’s image change from a hesitant and part-time politician to one who is mature and taken seriously by opponents was a major takeaway from the yatra for the Congress.

With more than 4,000 miles under his belt, Gandhi had attracted the attention of both his admirers and his critics. A cross-section of society, including movie and television stars like Kamal Haasan, Pooja Bhatt, Riya Sen, Swara Bhasker, Rashami Desai, Akanksha Puri, and Amol Palekar, participated in the march.

Other notable individuals, such as former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan and ex-finance secretary Arvind Mayaram, as well as authors and military veterans, such as former Army commander Gen (Retd) Deepak Kapoor and ex-Navy head Admiral (Retd) L Ramdas, also took part in the yatra.

At different times throughout the march, other opposition leaders including Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah of the National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti of the PDP, Aaditya Thackeray, Priyanka Chaturvedi, and Sanjay Raut of the Shiv Sena, and Supriya Sule of the NCP, marched with Gandhi.
