Rahul is greeted enthusiastically upon arrival in Leh

When Rahul Gandhi arrived in Leh on Thursday for a two-day tour, he was greeted warmly by the locals.

The Congress leader and Member of Parliament was warmly welcomed by Congress leaders and members of the Ladakh Congress Committee and Youth Congress as he landed at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in the afternoon.

A sizable throng had gathered outside the airport to get a glimpse of the leader who was unable to go to Ladakh during his Bharat Jodo Yatra. He had promised to go to Leh shortly.

Rahul was driven from the airport to the Grand Dragon Hotel, where he would spend the remainder of the day getting acclimated before starting his rounds of meetings on Friday, according to Tsering Namgyal, the leader of the opposition in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh.

Rahul Gandhi would interact with individuals as well as top Congress leaders, and Namgyal added that his visit will be restricted to the Leh area.
