Regional Parties Work Together to Advance Women’s Reservation in Parliament

A number of regional parties, including the BJD and the BRS, have united to support the women’s reservation measure in Parliament as a sign of their cohesion and resolve. This significant step took place on Sunday, the day before the start of a five-day parliamentary session, when the administration called an all-party meeting.

Pramod Tiwari, a Congress member, stressed that tackling urgent concerns including price inflation, unemployment, social unrest, and the situation in Manipur is on his party’s agenda for the all-party conference. He traveled to the Parliament House Complex to take part in this important assembly, according to PTI.

 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who also serves as the deputy leader of the House in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who is the leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi attended the meeting to represent the government. Together, they emphasized the government’s commitment to speaking with and resolving these regional parties’ issues.

 

The BJD and BRS leaders emphasized the women reservation bill’s importance for gender equality and empowerment while expressing their steadfast support to its advancement.

 

Prominent political figures, including Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda, DMK’s Kanimozhi, TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu, TMC’s Derek O’Brien, AAP’s Sanjay Singh, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, BRS’ K Keshava Rao, YSR Congress Party’s V Vijayasai Reddy, RJD’s Manoj Jha, JD(U)’s Anil Hegde, and SP’s Ram Gopal Yadav, were among the distinguished attendees at this consequential meeting.
