Reserve won’t end, falsehoods are being spread, claims Shah

Amit Shah, the Home Minister, said on Sunday that as long as the BJP is in power, it will never let reservation cease and won’t even permit the Congress to do so, targeting the powerful Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) support base.

Speaking at rallies in Bhandara-Gondiya, Maharashtra, and Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, the Union Minister said that although the Congress was attempting to secure votes in the name of Bhimrao Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution, it was the same party that had made great efforts to ensure his defeat in the 1952 Lok Sabha elections.

People strive to spread the spirit of the Constitution, which was crafted by him, to the masses on this day. But the Congress is busily disseminating misinformation even on days like these, Shah said.

He went on to say that Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge is arguing that if Narendra Modi were to win the presidency again, the Constitution would be altered, and that party officials believe the BJP will eliminate reservations once in office.

He said, “I want to make it clear that we will not let anything happen to reservations till the BJP is in politics.”
