Rijiju: The Center Approves PMGSY’s Upgrade of 91 Roads and 30 Bridges in Arunachal

According to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana would upgrade 30 long-span bridges and 91 roads totaling 720.75 kilometers in length in Arunachal Pradesh.

The minister of earth sciences, Rijiju, said in a statement that the combined projected cost of these projects is Rs 757.58 crore. In order to improve rural connectivity in 500 habitations throughout a number of districts, including Changlang, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, East Siang, Kamle, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, Lepa Rada, Lohit, Longding, and Lower Dibang Valley, he stressed the need for these projects to be completed as soon as possible.

According to him, these initiatives will assist the people who live in the districts of Lower Siang, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Pakke Kessang, Papum Pare, Siang, Tawang, and Tirap as well as Upper Siang, Upper Subansiri, West Kameng, and West Siang. Over the next five years, more development initiatives will be launched, according to Rijiju.

Arunachal Pradesh is now “getting its due” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the federal level and Chief Minister Pema Khandu in the state.

The minister said that “all these roads and bridges will improve connectivity with all-weather surfacing to remote and far-flung habitations in the state for general socio-economic development.”

According to him, improved surface connection will benefit patients, farmers, and students by making it easier for them to reach medical facilities, agricultural markets, and schools. Improved access to educational facilities would also aid in boosting academic performance, according to Rijiju.
