Shah thinks the chief minister candidate in Telangana would come from a lower caste

Amit Shah, the union home minister, said on Friday that a representative of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community will become the chief minister of Telangana should the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win an election.

Speaking at an electoral rally in Suryapet, Shah said that over the previous nine and a half years, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had cheated on Dalits, tribals, and Other Backward Classes. He said that BRS was anti-poor and anti-weaker groups as it had broken pledges to support them, such as giving each Dalit family three acres of land.

The Union Home Minister brought up the fact that in 2014, BRS president and state chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had pledged to appoint a Dalit as chief minister in the event that his party won an election. “Conveniently, he broke his word. He criticized him for now attempting to portray his son K T Rama Rao as his heir.

He said that an OBC politician will be appointed as chief minister in Telangana should the BJP win the state. Can KCR release a statement along these lines? During his tenure, he has done nothing to benefit the OBCs, he said.

Shah characterized the Congress and the BRS as family-oriented parties, stating that the Congress’s only goal was to install Rahul Gandhi as prime minister and KCR’s sole goal was to appoint his son KTR as chief minister. He said, “The BJP is the only party that works for the welfare of the people and the advancement of the country.”

According to the Union home minister, the BJP is dedicated to the advancement of tribal people. He made note of the fact that “a central university for tribals in the name of tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma was sanctioned by the Narendra Modi government at the Center.”

He stated that in order to fairly share Krishna water with Telangana, the Center has announced revising the terms and conditions of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal. In an effort to support Telangana farmers, we have also taken action to establish a National Turmeric Board. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, we are giving every home access to clean drinking water,” he said.

Shah claimed that the building of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was completed in record time by the Modi administration, and he extended an invitation to the Suryapet community to attend the grand opening event in January in big numbers.

BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the people were living through the most progressive and development-focused administration in the previous nine years, without responding to Shah’s remark about an OBC chief minister.

There isn’t even a 24-hour electricity supply for farmers in Gujarat, the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At a rally at Mahabubabad, KCR said, “Yet, the BJP national leaders are coming here and questioning our government.”

He stated that Telangana has no shortage of fertilisers, in contrast to the BJP-ruled states, and that farmers were receiving money straight into their accounts after selling their product.
