Amit Shah, a prominent BJP leader and Union Home Minister, will go to Bhopal on Wednesday to preside over a meeting of the ruling party before the key assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, according to party sources on Tuesday.

This will be Shah’s second trip to Madhya Pradesh in less than a week, where elections are scheduled for the end of the year.

Narottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh home minister and government spokesman, will greet Shah when he arrives in the state capital. He will then go to the BJP headquarters to preside over the party gathering at approximately 8 o’clock, according to the sources.

Senior BJP officials, including state-based Union ministers, would attend the event, they said.

The Union Home Minister would spend the night in Bhopal after the meeting before departing for New Delhi the following morning, according to the sources.
