Shinde Sarkar Approves Projects Worth Rs. 40,000Cr. for the Gems & Jewellery Park, EV Manufacturing, and More

In a meeting on Wednesday at the Sahyadri Guest Home, the Maharashtra Cabinet subcommittee on industries authorized large-scale projects worth Rs 40,000 crore. This action would attract investments to the state and create more employment.

The state administration estimates that the investment would contribute to the creation of almost 1.20 lakh new employment in the state.

The government announced that initiatives for the production of electric vehicles and batteries will be established in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. For the production of electric cars and batteries, a firm by the name of Gogoro India Private Limited has planned to open facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

The business also disclosed to the state government a proposal to establish around 12,000 battery swapping stations in the region, which would assist owners of electric cars in recharging their vehicles’ batteries. Given that both the state and the center are encouraging the usage of electric cars, this idea is hailed as a game-changer in the world of electric automobiles.

The estimated investment for this project is Rs 12,482 crore. The establishment of an electric car and battery manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar has also been suggested by “Ether,” another well-known brand in the electric vehicle industry. The business is anticipated to spend Rs 865 crore in this project. The bids of both corporations have received approval from the state government.

Another business, Pinnacle Mobility, received approval for their Rs 776 crore electric bus and battery project in Pune. Pinnacle is anticipated to provide technologically sophisticated commercial cars using hydrogen fuel cells in addition to electric automobiles. The initiative is anticipated to assist Pune in becoming a centre for hydrogen fuel in the near future, according to the office of the chief minister.

“Projects in the regions of Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar have been approved by us. The first electric car and battery project, valued at Rs 12,482 crore, is among them. It is being built in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, while the projected Gems and Jewellery Park in Navi Mumbai has also been given the rank of mega project, according to Shinde.

Other projects, such as the Rs 2,700 crore project of Performance Chemiserve and the Rs 2,033 crore project of SmartChem Technologies in the Raigad district, received approval from the state government as well. The government has approved two projects: General Polyfilms’ project in Nandurbar, which would cost Rs 500 crore, and Wipro Pari Robotics’ project in the Satara district, which will cost Rs 544 crore. The subcommittee approved the 110 crore rupee project in Ahmednagar by Ganraj Ispat as well.

The Gems and Jewellery Art Promotion Council (GJEPC) will soon create a massive Gems and Jewellery Park in Navi Mumbai’s Mahape Industrial Estate. On 21 acres of land, the project will be built, and 1,354 commercial and industrial firms will open for business there. In the area of integrated facilities for the gems and jewelry industry, the project is anticipated to draw an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. Approximately one lakh employment are anticipated to be created by this initiative, according to a government official. The creation of lab-grown diamonds will also be a key component of this research.

According to a source in the state cabinet, the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis administration has responded appropriately to the campaign led by Shiv Sena UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray after Vedanta-Foxconn and a few other significant projects were awarded to other states by accepting the high-profile projects.
