Siddu: Individuals must to defend the Constitution

On Sunday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that there was a perception circulating in some circles that the people’s socioeconomic circumstances were not reflected in the Constitution. He said, “Citizens should stand strong to protect the Constitution and not fall victim to such propaganda.”

He said that those opposed to the Constitution are the ones behind this misinformation at the opening of the Social Welfare Department’s “Constitution and National Unity” conference at Palace Grounds.

“Freedom, equality, and fraternity are all mentioned explicitly in the Constitution. Since the Constitution went into force on January 26, 1950, propaganda has been in place. This isn’t how things should be. We will all survive if the Constitution is upheld. The existence of the nation would be at jeopardy if not, he said. He drew attention to the statement made by Dr. BR Ambedkar, the man who drafted the Constitution, that people who experience disparity would demolish democracy.
