Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, experiences a heatwave with temperatures as high as 46.3°C

May 17, Jaipur: According to the India Meteorological Department, Rajasthan was still experiencing heatwave conditions on Friday due to increasing temperatures.

According to the meteorological office, Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest temperature in the state during the previous 24 hours at 46.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Vanasthali Pali at 45.1 degrees.

According to R. S. Sharma, director of the Jaipur meteorological center, the highest temperature recorded in most regions of the state over the previous 24 hours was between 41 and 46 degrees Celsius.

He also issued a severe heatwave warning that will last for a week in certain areas of the desert state starting on Friday.

“A strong heatwave is predicted in parts of Jaipur, Bikaner division, and the Shekhawati area from Friday,” he said.

“The weather in the state will remain mainly dry in the coming days and the maximum temperature is likely to increase by 2-3 degrees in the next 48 hours,” he said.

An extreme heatwave might occur in certain areas of Jaipur, the Bikaner division, and the Shekhawati region as a result of this event. The official said that there is a good chance of a heat wave starting on May 17 in various areas of Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota division, as well as a maximum temperature of 43 to 46 degrees Celsius in such areas within the following 48 hours.

He suggested that people remain in cool, dry locations to protect themselves from the scorching temperatures.

To stay hydrated, people should consume enough water, ORS, and lemonade, according to him.

He said that necessary precautions should be taken to shield animals and birds from the intense heat.
