Stalin and EPS applaud the electoral bonds ruling by the SC

The Supreme Court’s ruling declaring electoral bonds unlawful has been praised by leaders of numerous political parties, Chief Minister MK Stalin, and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Stalin said, “The Supreme Court has rightly held that #ElectoralBonds are unconstitutional,” in a post on the X platform. This will guarantee the integrity of the system and a transparent election process. With this ruling, #democracy and fairness for all political parties have been restored. It has also preserved the confidence of the average person in the system.

In an interview, Palaniswami praised the decision and said that the AIADMK was the only group that had not received funding in this way. Additionally, Edappadi K Palaniswami said that certain parties were using electoral bonds as a means of raising money and stifling rival parties to the AIADMK.

S Ramadoss, the founder of PMK, hailed the ruling and encouraged the Supreme Court and the Election Commission to work together to combat the culture of paying for votes.

Thol Thirumavalavan, the president of VCK, applauded the decision and asked the supreme court to move quickly to hear the matter pertaining to the usage of electronic voting machines in elections. R Mutharasan, state secretary of the CPI, applauded the decision as well.

The ruling was also praised by DK president V Veeramani, TNCC president KS Alagiri, CPM state secretary K Balakrishnan, and others.
