Students and children were employed to harass KPSC exam takers, which caused a stir

Students were reportedly deployed to frisk applicants during the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) examination for the position of Junior Assistant Group C in the Karnataka State Audits and Accounts Department on Sunday at a center in Mangaluru. This sparked a controversy.

On Sunday, the test was held at the Government Women’s College at Balmatta, Mangaluru. Nonetheless, a few of the applicants claimed that inexperienced students—among them a minor—from nearby institutions were used to check applicants as they entered the testing room, and they charged KPSC with administering the test in an incompetent way.

A minor is among the pupils shown in the viral footage vetting the applicants with metal detectors.

To combat malpractice and the usage of technological gadgets, the KPSC has mandated that cellphone jammers, biometric face recognition, and body cameras be utilized in test centers. On the other hand, several applicants claimed that KPSC had not made the necessary preparations or followed the rules while administering the test.

The supervisor of the testing center said that KPSC hired a third party to administer the test.

She claimed, “Those involved in the screening process were not employed by our college; rather, they were contracted out to that organization.” BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal tweeted on X, criticizing KPSC officials and claiming it demonstrates the organization’s level of preparation for the test.
