Supporters of Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna cause office damage

Enraged that incumbent Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna was not receiving a ticket for the next Lok Sabha elections, his supporters threw stones at the Koppal BJP office on Thursday, smashing window glass and injuring furniture.

In addition to calling for the return of Dr. K. Basavaraj, the candidate the party had chosen for the seat, they also chanted anti-B S Yediyurappa and anti-state BJP president B Y Vijayendra.

According to a few reports, Sanganna was approached by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who offered an offer of a Koppal Congress ticket. Sanganna is said to have responded, nevertheless, by saying he would discuss this with his followers.

In order to support their leader, Sanganna’s supporters have for the time being chosen to organize large-scale demonstrations and a mass resignation from the party.

When BJP MLC Hemalata Nayak visited Sanganna at her home when she was hosting a news conference, things became worse. She became enraged when one of the MP’s supporters questioned her about why she had come. She yelled at him, threatening to strike him with her shoes. The follower was then led from the scene by a police officer.

The adherents claimed that Sanganna was a key figure in the Koppal BJP’s founding and had completed several developmental projects.

“I’m not sure why I didn’t get a ticket, but I hope Dr. K. Basavaraj has success. The BJP leaders have not gotten in touch with me; maybe they are busy and will get back to me later. I want my supporters to remain calm,” Sanganna stated.
