The Indian President is present at a civic gathering in Leh

Today, November 1, 2023, at Sindhu Ghat in Leh, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, attended a civic event held in her honor.

In her remarks, the President expressed her happiness to be at Sindhu Ghat on this particular occasion. She went on to say that the Sindhu River is ingrained in every Indian’s historical, cultural, and spiritual awareness.

The President expressed his happiness at meeting the kind people of Ladakh. She continued by saying that the people of India have a unique affinity and respect for the people of Ladakh and that they are aware of the efforts that these people have made to the nation’s protection.

According to the President, this region’s residents are renowned for their courage and Buddhist beliefs. She continued by saying that via Ladakh, the eternal and live teachings of Lord Buddha were dispersed among far-off nations.

According to the President, Ladakh offers many opportunities for the growth of ecotourism, adventure tourism, and spiritual tourism. She went on to say that there is a lot of room for growth in wellness and health tourism in this area.

The President expressed his satisfaction that Ladakh still has the rich customs of so many indigenous tribes. She continued by saying that people are aware of the love and reverence for the natural world that are shown in tribal groups’ artwork, dances, songs, and way of life. She emphasized that we had to protect indigenous tribes’ way of existence in conformity with the “Lifestyle for the Environment.” She went on to say that such areas’ residents need to be inspired to embrace the positive aspects of contemporary development. She went on to say that this fusion of modernity and tradition would turn out to be the best route for sustainable development for all inhabitants, especially those in Ladakh.

The President also spoke with local tribal people and SHG members.
