There’s a good chance Parthasaradhi in Hindupur LS will be an easy task

Hindupur (the district of Sri Sathya Sai): B. K. Parthasaradhi, the head of the TDP in Sri Sathya Sai, has been nominated as an MP candidate for the Hindupur Lok Sabha seat. His name appeared on the party’s third list, which was made public on Friday.

Senior TDP leader Nimmala Kistappa ran for MP in 2014 and 2019, however, she was only victorious in 2014 against YSRCP contender Duddukunta Sreedhara. He ran in 2019 as well, but K Gorantla Madhav of the YSRCP defeated him.

Parthasaradhi lost to Nizamuddin, a Congress candidate, in 2004; however, Nimmala Kistappa defeated her as the Congress candidate for Hindupur MP in 2009.

For the second time, Parthasaradhi is running for parliament in 2024 as an MP. J Shanthamma, a former Karnataka state MP from Bellary, is his adversary in the YSRCP.

Senior TDP leader Parthasaradhi was the ZP chairman in 2000 and the MLA for Penukonda in 2004, 2009, and 2014.

Being the TDP district president gives him clout in all seven assembly segments that make up the Hindupur Lok Sabha seat. They are Kadiri, Dharmavaram, Raptadu, Madakasira, Hindupur, Penukonda, and Puttaparthi. The TDP retains sway over the majority of these divisions.

The TDP benefits from the backing of the BJP, which has some sway in Hindupur, and the Jana Sena. Shanthamma, the YSRCP candidate, is seen as being less strong in comparison. The opposition to incumbents would also benefit Parthasaradhi. Because of the influence of Hindupur Assembly candidate Nandamuri Balakrishna, he is probably going to get more votes in Hindupur.

Parthasaradhi spoke with certainty of his triumph to ‘The Hans India’. He predicted that the governing party would also be harmed by the current YSRCP MP Gorantla Madhav’s poor performance. He said, “A lot of bad things, like the YSRCP government’s performance, will work against the ruling party and it would be a cake walk for him to win the battle.”
