CM in Kolhapur to assess PM’s rally preparations

Kolhapur: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was scheduled to arrive in the city on Friday night to oversee the arrangements for PM Narendra Modi’s scheduled public event on Saturday.

To assess the progress of the campaign for Mahayuti candidates in the Kolhapur and Hatkanangle Lok Sabha seats, the chief minister is expected to have talks in the city with representatives of the Mahayuti coalition party and independent MLAs Vinay Kore and Prakash Awade.

“We’ll fight the Lok Sabha election on work done by Mahayuti in the state and the Modi government at the center,” Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde said in an interview.

The PM’s rally is anticipated to draw more than two lakh attendees.

A number of road closures and traffic diversion measures have been implemented in advance of PM Modi’s visit to Kolhapur. “All the roads leading to the Tapovan ground from Sambhaji Nagar chowk, Sai Mandir-Kalamba chowk, Devkar Panand chowk, Chiva Bazar chowk, Navin Vashi Naka, and Ramanand Nagar chowk will be blocked for vehicular movement,” said Inspector Nandkumar More of the city traffic department. — Rahul Gayakwad
