Elections for Four Maharashtra Legislative Council Seats Are Announced by the EC

The Election Commission of India said on Wednesday that June 10 would be the date of the biennial election for the four seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Voter tallying is scheduled for June 13, according to a Mumbai press release.

On July 7, the current Legislative Council (MLC) members’ six-year term comes to an end.

Mumbai teachers’ and Mumbai graduates’ constituencies are presently represented by Kapil Patil (Lok Bharati) and Vilas Potnis (Shiv Sena (UBT)) among the seats up for election.

Niranjan Davkhare of the BJP represents the seat of Konkan division graduates, while Kishore Darade represents the constituency of Nashik division teachers.

May 22 is the deadline for submitting nominations. According to an EC statement, the nomination applications will be scrutinized on May 24 and withdrawals must be made by May 27.
