Three ultrasound centers’ licenses are suspended, and a show-cause letter is sent

Today, the Health Department issued show-cause notices to the ultrasound centers in Maachiwara, Raikot, and Jagraon, and suspended the licenses of the three centers.

The department has given these two centers three days to reply to its notification.

Following a review of the scan centers by Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasbir Singh Aulakh, who discovered operational deviations, appropriate action was taken.

Under the direction of Sahnewal SMO Dr. Ramesh and Hatur Senior Medical Officer Dr. Varun Saggar, the Civil Surgeon had established two teams. On March 18 and 19, the teams examined around fifteen ultrasonography centers located in Samrala, Maachiwara, Jagraon, and Raikot. During the inspections, it was discovered that one Maachiwara scanning center’s registered physician had not visited the facility in the previous month, but no documentation of this had been filed with the government. The personnel had the key to the center.

It was discovered that the physician registered to do echocardiography was also performing ultrasound examinations at a scan center in Jagraon. The OPD registry did not include the patient’s record.

It was discovered that the PCPNDT record was not being kept up to date at the scanning center in Raikot. Neither their signature nor the center’s official stamp were included on the patient information forms.

Following the report’s submission, the licenses of three scan centers were revoked, and the relevant SMOs were instructed to seal the ultrasound equipment at these locations.

According to civil surgeon Dr. Jasbir Singh, the purpose of the inspections was to make sure that the PCPNDT Act was being adhered to in both text and spirit. He claimed that individuals found to be in violation of the regulations had been dealt with.
