Two Americans Participate in the Amarnath Yatra This Year

Two American guys, together with other Indian devotees, have traveled on the sacred Amarnath Yatra to a 3,880-meter-high cave shrine in the Himalayas, describing the experience as “a feeling impossible to describe.” The two Americans said they were “grateful” to have experienced the holy spot while walking along the pilgrimage trails. They added it was their “dream to come” to the holy location.

One of them was heard saying, “We have been watching the YouTube Aarti videos of this place almost every day for the last three years,” in a video that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board sent to the news agency ANI.

“Swami Vivekananda visited Amarnath and had a significant experience there. I’ve been aware of this tale for 40 years.Coming here felt like a dream and appeared unattainable. However, everything came together through Bholenath’s grace, and now here we are.We have no words for how we feel, they continued.

In the south of Kashmir, among the Himalayas, is where the yearly pilgrimage, which is revered in Hinduism, takes place. Amarnath is a sacred cave shrine that is 3,880-meters high.

They also gave the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine board high marks, praising their “flawless” effort and the “impressive” volume of events they organized.

They said, “We pray that the type of tranquility that exists here, in these mountains, and in the sacred cave, also exists everywhere else.

Yatra of Amarnath

The ancient 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in the Anantnag district and the 14-km shorter but more difficult Baltal route in the Ganderbal district make up the two tracks of the Amarnath Yatra, which is a pilgrimage.

One of the most sacred sanctuaries to Lord Shiva is Amarnath.

The caverns are only open to the general public during the Yatra, which takes place in the Hindu calendar month of Shravan. This year, the yatra will continue till August 31.

The yatra, which had been put on hold while the Ramban area’s Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was being repaired, was restarted on July 1 from the Jammu base camp.

The yatra this year is noteworthy since more than 6 lakh pilgrims are anticipated. Up till Wednesday, more than three lakh individuals had registered for the trip. According to the shrine board, there have been 10% more registrations so far than there were last year.
