Daughter of Karnataka Congress Leader Stabbed to Death on Campus by Former Student for Turning Down His Approaches

After she reportedly rebuffed his advances, the daughter of Karnataka Congress politician Niranjan Hiremath was fatally attacked with a knife on campus by a former student.

Neha Hiremath, the victim, was a first-year KLE Technological University in Hubballi, Karnataka, Master of Computer Applications (MCA) student.

Police said that the woman knew her assailant, Fayaz, who went to the same institution but subsequently left, according to an NDTV story.

After perpetrating the act, Fayaz ran from the area and was later taken into custody by the authorities.

“We apprehended the accused in less than ninety minutes, notwithstanding his flight. Neha and the accused were acquainted and had studied together, according to other students who have spoken to us. After the accused is finished being questioned, we will know more, said Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar.

Fayaz, who lives in Savadatti in the Belagavi district, is reportedly the son of government school teachers, according to The Indian Express. He had dropped out of college six months before after an exam failure. In addition, Neha studied with him.

The Thursday evening event, which happened at about five o’clock, was caught on camera. In the video, Neha can be seen backing up. She speaks with Fayaz for a little while before he angrily approaches her and starts stabbing her repeatedly.

Neha was taken to the hospital after the incident, but she was pronounced dead. The Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital is now home to her corpse.

Niranjan Hiremath, Neha’s father, is a Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Congress councillor.
