Two are arrested by Anti-Gangster Task Force for transporting weapons

Following a tip, Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) agents have apprehended two interstate arms traffickers and taken three handguns and ammo out of their hands. In this context, a complaint has been filed with the State Special Operation Cell against them.

Rajesh Sharma and Arwinder Singh, both from Amritsar, were named among those taken into custody. The police said in a statement released here on Friday that they had detained the two individuals as soon as they received specific information that they were engaged in smuggling weaponry from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and selling it to criminals.

Three 32 bore handguns and fifteen live rounds were seized by the AGTF, and the police said that more investigation was underway to determine the weapons’ forward and backward connections.
