Two are detained for stealing at the Chandimandir temple after three months

For stealing at the Chandimandir shrine in January of this year, the police have detained two young people.

The accused have been identified as Golu (24), a resident of Bangala Colony in Mohali, and Sukha (25), also known as Beparwah.

ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj said at a news conference today that the two suspects in relation to the theft at the temple were taken into custody by a team under the direction of Inspector Nirmal Singh, the head of Detective Staff.

On January 11, the temple management board said that two unidentified individuals had taken jewelry and other things from the shrine’s grounds. They said that jewelry, contribution boxes, gold coins, and silver lamps had all been seized by the burglars. According to officials, the police then reviewed the CCTV video in an effort to identify the thieves.

Several jewelry pieces have been found on the suspects.

According to ACP Kamboj, Sukha and Golu were implicated in four or five further theft cases that were filed in Himachal Pradesh.
