Weather Update: IMD forecasts snowfall in THESE states; rain and hailstorms will provide respite in certain areas of east and central India

In its most recent weather prediction, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday that thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated for many areas of East and Central India between March 17 and 20.

Furthermore, the Western Himalayan Region is anticipated to be affected by a new Western Disturbance beginning on March 18 and another disturbance beginning on March 20. Over the next week, this disturbance may bring sporadic light rain or snow to a number of places, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh.

For the next three days, it is predicted that light to moderate rainfall will be scattered to fairly widespread throughout Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and East Madhya Pradesh. There will also likely be thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph. From March 17–20, isolated hailstorms are also predicted in Vidarbha, as well as in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana, and Yanam may all have sporadic light snowfall or rainfall between March 17 and 19.

Furthermore, from March 17 to 22, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is predicted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

IMD predicts that Sunday will see partly overcast sky over the nation’s capital, with high and low temperatures expected to hover around 31 and 11 degrees Celsius.

Rising Temperature
In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, hot and muggy weather is predicted to persist for the next two days. For the next five days, Kerala, Mahe, and Rayalaseema should also expect similar circumstances. Over the following four to five days, maximum temperatures in West and Northwest India may also gradually climb by 2-4°C. On the other hand, over the following four to five days, the maximum temperatures in Central and East India are probably going to drop by two to three degrees Celsius.
