When a home fire breaks out, a pet dog is burned alive

On Wednesday, some unknown miscreants set fire to a residence in Sector 32A, Chandigarh Road, here.

A dog that was a pet and was inside the home died from burns.

A criminal complaint was filed against the miscreants under Sections 435 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with purpose to inflict damage of one hundred), 436 (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy home, etc.), and 429 (mischief by killing, maiming livestock, etc.) of the IPC.

The police control room notified ASI Avtar Singh, the investigating officer, that a fire had broken out in a residence in Sector 32 when he and the police force were patrolling the Chandigarh road.

When he arrived, he claimed to have discovered that the house’s whole bottom floor was entirely destroyed and that no family members were inside or outside the building. Nevertheless, a beloved dog that was inside the home passed away from burn wounds.

According to the early inquiry, it seemed that the home fire was purposely started by unknown miscreants rather than starting inadvertently, according to the ASI.

He said the inquiry was ongoing, but as of yet, there was no information on the culprits. The cops would solve the crime soon enough.

When firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the fire, they discovered that it seemed to have started from a short circuit. Rumors of an LPG cylinder explosion inside the home were refuted by firefighters.
