Will guarantee the restoration of ill-gotten wealth: PM Modi’s jab at the opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the opposition over corruption on Sunday, the first day of the BJP’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections, and he pledged to restore embezzled cash to the people.

“Modi is not going to back down. “Action will be taken against the corrupt,” he said, perhaps alluding to the Enforcement Directorate’s recent arrests of prominent AAP figures and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a purported excise policy fraud.

The prime minister said that everyone who had wrongfully stolen money from the country would have to pay it back. The Prime Minister said, “After this, some people are rattled and they have come together under the umbrella of the INDI Alliance. They are not even getting bail from the Supreme Court.”

Modi reaffirmed his anti-corruption policy in response to criticism from the INDIA bloc about the arrests of Kejriwal and former chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, stating, “We are engaged in a battle against corruption to safeguard funds meant for the poor from being siphoned off by middlemen.”

He then on, “I guarantee the return of ill-gotten wealth to the people of my country. I am not just investigating the corrupt.”

In an assault on the Congress, Modi said that the party had “weaken” the nation’s integrity and interests by deciding to give Sri Lanka control over the strategically significant island of Katchatheevu in the 1970s, despite the island’s critical importance to national security.

With the aim of securing more than 400 seats out of 543 in the Lok Sabha, Modi launched the NDA’s campaign with a speech at his first public gathering in this town which is mostly Muslim and Jat. “An alliance has been formed in the battle against corruption, and the SC has not granted relief to several prominent politicians who have been imprisoned for corrupt practices. Some people are desperate as a result of the arrests, he said, adding that they would not submit to dishonest people.

In an attempt to win over Hindu voters in the wake of the Ram Temple’s construction, the BJP has nominated legendary TV actor Aruni Govil of Meerut, who portrayed Lord Ram in the television epic “Ramayan,” in place of three-time MP Rajendra Aggarwal.

The protest was planned the day after the late Charan Singh, a well-known farmer leader in this area and a former prime minister, was posthumously given the Bharat Ratna. Jayant Chaudhary, the leader of the RLD and a recent departure from the India bloc to join the NDA, accepted the award on his grandson’s behalf.

Chaudhary Charan Singh was not even treated with the respect he deserved by the anti-farmer INDI Alliance. According to Modi, there was an effort to block Jayant from speaking in Parliament about the nation’s highest civilian award and to degrade him. He also suggested that the Congress and SP apologize to farmers by going door-to-door.

Jayant had earlier expressed gratitude to Modi for granting his grandfather the Bharat Ratna and promised to fortify the NDA. Jayant has filed candidates for the Baghpat and Bijnor seats.

Voting for the NDA candidates in Kairana, Birnor, Baghpat, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar, Modi exhorted the populace, stating that their choice will determine the nation’s destiny.
