Will Not Back Bharuch’s AAP-Congress Alliance If Faisal Ahmed Issues a Sermon

New Delhi: On Thursday, Faisal Ahmed, the late Congress leader Ahmed Patel’s son, said that if the AAP were to win the Gujarati seat of Bharuch, he and other Congressmen would not back the AAP-Congress alliance.

The India-Congress partnership is crucial for our nation since it is a democratic party. The partnership between Congress and India will only gain if Congress wins the nomination. Since the AAP is only strong in one Assembly seat, it would be much simpler for Congress to win the Bharuch district. In our opinion, Congress should win the Bharuch district.”I refuse to endorse this coalition,” said Faisal Ahmed Patel.

According to a PTI report citing sources, the Congress and AAP are expected to have a seat-sharing agreement in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana. The decision is expected to be made public very soon.

The AAP and the Congress are nearing a final agreement on seat sharing in Delhi and many other states for the Lok Sabha elections, and sources indicated that the two parties will likely make an announcement shortly.

They added that the seats that each party would run for have been decided upon by both parties. According to AAP sources, the Congress will run candidates from Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, North East Delhi, and South Delhi, while the AAP would field candidates from South Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, and New Delhi.

The BJP now holds all seven of the national capital’s Lok Sabha seats.

The finalization of the partnership between the AAP and the Congress in Delhi is imminent. Within a day or two, the two parties could make a formal statement, Delhi Minister and senior AAP leader Atishi said during a news conference.

Arvinder Singh Lovely, the president of the Delhi Congress, said that the two organizations are significant parts of the INDIA bloc. He informed reporters, “The India bloc will contest the Lok Sabha elections strongly not only in Delhi but throughout the entire country.”

Additionally, the Congress has chosen to award the AAP two seats in Gujarat and one seat in Haryana. Bharuch and Bhavnagar are in Gujarat, whereas Gurugram or Faridabad is probably the headquarters for Haryana.

The son and daughter of former senior party leader Ahmed Patel ran for the Bharuch seat.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and national convenor of the AAP, said on Wednesday that the alliance discussions were postponed and that there will be new developments in the next day or two.
