Will turn India as a major center for exports: Modi at “Bharat Tex 2024”

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the work done by his administration to develop the textile industry in India and pledged to make his nation a “Global Export Hub.”

At Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, Modi said, “We have a firm belief that we will transform India into a ‘Global Export Hub'” at the opening of the international textile festival, ‘Bharat Tex 2024. We have given Vocal for Local one more additional dimension in the previous ten years. Across the nation, there are now active public Vocal for Local and Local to Global campaigns.

According to the prime minister, women, farmers, young, and the impoverished are the four main pillars of a “developed India” and are all impacted by the textile industry.

“We have decided that within the next 25 years, Bharat will become a ‘Viksit Rashtra.'” Young people, women, farmers, and the impoverished are four key pillars of Viksit Bharat. Notably, the Indian textile industry is linked to each of these pillars, said the prime minister.

Modi lauded his government’s persistent efforts to develop the industry and said that foreign investments in India’s textile sector had increased over the last ten years.

He said, “The amount of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the textile sector has doubled since 2014.”

“It is evident that the textile industry has benefited from the efforts of a stable and forward-thinking administration. The Indian textile market was valued at less than Rs 7 lakh crores in 2014; currently, it is valued at over Rs 12 lakh crores, the prime minister said.

PM Modi emphasized once again how important Khadi is to the textile industry’s growth and the representation of women workers in it.

Seven out of ten people who produce clothing are women, and the number is significantly higher for handlooms. In addition to textiles, Khadi has given our nation’s women a new lease on strength, he said, noting that the fabric has evolved into a tool for “development and employment.”
