With a new twist, Pawan Singh told the BJP he wouldn’t fight from Asansol and said he would contest the polls to fulfill a promise

Actor Pawan Singh, who hails from Bhojpuri, said a few days ago that he will run in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections to “fulfill the promise he made to the society, people, and his mother,” after declining the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Asansol ticket from West Bengal.

“In order to keep the commitment I made to my mother, my community, and my people, I will run for office. We count on your cooperation and blessings. In his X post, Singh wrote, “Jai Mata Di.”

On March 3, the singer-actor announced that he would not be able to run in the general elections, citing personal concerns.

He was fielded by the saffron movement from the Asansol seat in West Bengal.
