After being called up to the England team, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen exclaims, “Would be the Ultimate”

Jarrod Bowen of West Ham claimed to be in the best shape of his life as he was ready to live out a boyhood goal of playing for England at Wembley.

On Sunday, the 26-year-old received a new seven-year deal from his club and was re-called to Gareth Southgate’s international team.

Bowen has scored five times in nine appearances this season, including the game-winning goal when the Hammers defeated Fiorentina to win the Europa Conference League in June.

The way this season has gone, Bowen believes he is playing the finest football of his career.

“I’ve experienced such things in Europe. When I first arrived, things were a little different.

“Now that I’m a father, I’m in a different type of position; you simply feel a little older. I’m in a great position right now, and I’m thrilled to be back here.

The four times that Bowen has now played for England have all occurred during Southgate’s least successful international training camp.

In June 2022, he participated in four Nations League games that were lost, including two losses to Hungary.

Bowen was also called up in September of last year, but he did not participate, therefore he was excluded from the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Southgate has made it clear that he will take the field against Australia on Friday, enabling him to realize his dream of representing his nation at Wembley.

“That would be the ultimate,” he continued. “I have four caps, for which I am quite thankful, but the Wembley one is gone.

“As a young boy, you dream of representing your country, but you never think it will actually happen. However, now that I am here, I hope to have the chance to play at Wembley.”

On October 17, the Three Lions meet Italy at Wembley in an attempt to get closer to qualifying for Euro 2024 after playing Australia.

With 13 points out of a potential 15 so far in qualification, England is on track to qualify for Germany next year.
