Watch: KL Rahul Resumes Batting in the Nets Before the England Test in Rajkot

KL Rahul, an Indian batsman, resumed training after sitting out the second Test match against England. Rahul, a specialist hitter in Hyderabad, was unable to participate in Vizag due to a right quadriceps ailment.

For the previous three Test matches, he has been summoned back into the team, although his availability is conditioned on his fitness.

On social media, a video of Rahul batting in the nets has drawn interest from followers. The colorful batter himself posted a video of himself hitting a gorgeous cover drive in the nets on his Instagram feed.

The 31-year-old has recently shown himself to be a proficient batsman. Following his outstanding century during the South Africa tour, he amassed 86 runs in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test.

But even with the veteran hitter out of commission, India managed to win the second Test in Visakhapatnam to square the series 1-1.

The responsibility will fall on KL Rahul in the middle order, who seems to be a little inexperienced at the moment, in lieu of Virat Kohli, who has been out of the lineup for the previous three Tests.

Rahul has a respectable record while performing at home. The hitter has averaged 41.24 and scored 1031 runs in the 17 games he has participated. This comprises a high score of 199, one hundred and nine fifty, and so on.

The worry is that, if the medical staff gives the all-clear to play, his availability and that of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be verified. To continue their winning run at home in the red-ball format, India would need Rahul’s batting contributions in the remaining games.

Due to Shreyas Iyer’s lackluster performance in the second Test, India benched him, which increases the importance of KL Rahul’s bat in the middle order.

The Indian squad for the last three Test matches against England is as follows: R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), and R Ashwin.
