Ajinkya Rahane’s Epic “Comeback Super King” Remark by Shastri Following an 89-run Knock Against Australia

As Ajinkya Rahane made a return into the Indian side, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri praised Rahane for his 89-run innings and gave a huge thanks to the IPL 2023 champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

After being ousted from the squad during the Test series against South Africa in 2022, the middle-order batsman who had previously led the Indian team in the absence of Virat Kohli returned to the lineup after a protracted 18-month hiatus.

India lost the first innings of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia by a score of 469 runs, and Rohit Sharma’s team was reduced to 71/4 after Virat Kohli was dismissed as the top order broke down.

Before Rahane scored 89 runs and India just escaped the follow-on, Ravindra Jadeja contributed a useful 48-run effort to keep his team’s chances alive. This was made possible by a century partnership between Ajinkya and Shardul Thakur for the seventh wicket.

After Rahane’s hit, Shastri was all praise for him, noting that the inning had both aggressiveness and prudence.

“Ajinkya Rahane played excellent batting. His strategies and his clarity of thinking from the beginning, in my opinion, were world-class. He combined aggressiveness and prudence. He was always searching for runs, and Shardul Thakur caught on to this by doing the same. It was a wonderful combination, and it provided India complete dignity, according to Shastri, who spoke to Star Sports.

The senior hitter was “liberated” by the manner Ajinkya performed in the just finished IPL 2023 season, according to the former Indian coach.

The most astounding element of Rahane’s 326 runs for CSK as they won their seventh IPL title was that the 35-year-old scored at a scorching strike rate of 180 in IPL.

He persevered and played domestic cricket. waited for his chance, and I believe that this IPL has served as a kind of release for him in many respects. It enabled him to get outside of his comfort zone and play as freely as he is doing right now. There are no mental fogs since they have all been removed. Shastri said, “He comes out and plays his natural game.

With two days of cricket action remaining in the summit match, Australia concluded Day 3 of the WTC final 2023 with a 296-run lead as they aim to establish a challenging goal. India will try to make progress on Day 4 of the match.
