All England Open: An Se Young Shows PV Sindhu the Exit Door in Ro16

Indian shuttler Ace On Thursday, South Korean sensation An Se Young defeated her compatriot PV Sindhu, sending her tumbling out of the All England Open.

In the round of 16 of the famous tournament in the UK, An Se defeated the 28-year-old Indian in straight games, 21-19, 21-11.

In the women’s doubles competition, Japanese players Rin Iwananga and Kie Nakanishi also showed the exit door to the Indian duo Rutuparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda.

The Indian pair lost 9-21, 9-21, and were eliminated from the competition in the round of 32.

Later in the day, the top-seeded men’s doubles team, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, will play the Malaysian team, Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, while the other Indian team, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, will play their Round of 16 match against Yu Zheng and Zhang Shuxian.

Later in the day, Lakshya Sen will compete against Anders Antonsen in the Ro16 men’s singles tournament.
