Blockbuster comeback of Rishabh Pant announced, and much-awaited return date update from Sourav Ganguly

Rishabh Pant, the standout batsman and wicketkeeper for Team India, has been recovering from serious injuries he sustained in an automobile accident in December. After 40 days of recuperating from several injuries, Pant was able to resume his activities. Since then, he has been highly active on social media, sharing updates on his progress toward recovery. Pant trained with his Delhi Capitals colleagues earlier this week at the Jadavpur University Salt Lake Campus stadium. Team director Sourav Ganguly speculates that Pant may play again in the Indian Premier League in 2024.

Ganguly said that Pant, the team’s captain, would make a comeback in the IPL while speaking with media at the camp. “(Pant) is doing well now. Ganguly said reporters, “He will play in the IPL next season,” as cited by PTI.

The former captain of India, Ganguly, said that Pant is spending three days in Kolkata planning team-building exercises in front of the December 19 IPL auctions in Dubai. When Pant was not available, Australian opener David Warner guided DC to a second-place finish the previous season.

However, Rishabh won’t be working out here. He still has time to improve his skills. He’ll become much better by January (2024),” Ganguly said.

We had been discussing the team. Being the captain, he spoke his opinions on the impending sale. He has come here to do certain things pertaining to the team for that purpose.

A few days before to the December automobile tragedy, Rishabh Pant had made his professional cricket debut, playing for India against Bangladesh in the second Test of the series. Ishan Kishan assumed wicketkeeping responsibilities in T20Is in Pant’s absence, while KL Rahul took over the role in ODIs and Tests. Rahul is now serving as the 2023 World Cup’s wicketkeeper.

Pant was a pillar of the Indian squad in every version of the game before the vehicle accident. In June of last year, he led India in their T20I series against South Africa and was selected for the ICC Men’s Test team of the year for 2021.
