“Happy 75th Republic Day!”: PV Sindhu and Sania Mirza Lead Sports Fraternity in Sending Out Best Wishes

In Indian history, January 26 is particularly significant since it is the day the country’s Constitution was ratified after its colonial past. A number of athletes flocked to social media to wish India happy republic day on this historic 75th year of the holiday.

The legendary tennis player from India, Sania Mirza, sent her best wishes for the day and highlighted how important it is because it “pays tribute to the women are getting pride of place on such a momentous occasion and it will go a long way in furthering the cause of women empowerment.”

The platinum jubilee celebration this year will honor “nari- shakti,” making it very remarkable. On India’s 75th Republic Day, badminton star Saina Nehwal said, “It’s a proud moment for the country.”

India’s Republic Day was established on January 26, 1930, the day the Indian National Congress (INC) issued the Declaration of Indian Independence. The day was selected because it coincided with the announcement of the Poorna Swaraj resolution by the Congress.
