In preparation for the England Test series, Rohit Sharma begins to train

NEW DELHI: Indian captain Rohit Sharma has thrown himself into intense net sessions in advance of the eagerly awaited five-Test series against England, demonstrating his will and preparedness for the task at hand.

Cricket fans are agog about the series, which is scheduled to begin on January 25 in Hyderabad and end on March 11 in Dharamshala.
Images from the ‘Hitman’s’ most recent net session were posted on social media by the Mumbai Indians, Rohit’s team and the current five-time Indian Premier League winners, to give fans a peek into his rigorous training schedule.

Having amassed 747 runs at an average of 49.80 in nine Test matches against England, including two hundreds and three fifties, Rohit has an outstanding record against the English. His ability to score 2,002 runs at an average of 66.73 in 24 Tests, including eight hundreds and six fifties, demonstrates his unquestionable skill in Indian conditions.
Rohit showed his ability to recover from early losses with two ducks in a recent Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan. Rohit rattled back with a magnificent 121* in 69 balls.
Dhruv Jurel, a batsman and wicketkeeper, has been called up for the first time to the Indian Test team for the first two matches. But the team will be without the rested Ishan Kishan and Mohammed Shami, who is still healing.
Jasprit Bumrah, a talented bowler, will serve as vice-captain for Team India under Rohit’s leadership. There are three wicketkeepers in the team: Dhruv Jurel, KS Bharat, and KL Rahul.
Four spinners—Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin—bolster the bowling unit. Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mukesh Kumar are the members of the pace attack.
In the middle order, Virat Kohli, Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill are still there to provide solidity and punch.
