In the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Mitchell Santner scores 13 off the last delivery for New Zealand against the Netherlands

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is already underway in India, where several fantastic cricket matches have already been played.

During the game between New Zealand and the Netherlands, which the Kiwis eventually won by 99 runs, there was a noteworthy incident that occurred.

First to bat, the Kiwis scored 322 runs for the cost of 7 wickets as half-tons were recorded by Will Young, Tom Latham, and Rachin Ravindra.

Mitchell Santner was able to score 13 runs off the penultimate pitch of the NZ innings, making it an entertaining ball to watch.

Santner struck a full toss from Dutch bowler Bas De Leed for a six on the last ball of the innings after he missed the deck. Due to the height of the delivery, the umpire ruled it a no-ball and called for a free hit as the over went on.

Santner responded with yet another shot over the ropes, putting the ball away for another six after the delivery, which was recognized as legal, was a low-full toss.

As a consequence, the last ball of the over scored 13, raising the Kiwi total.

The Dutch, who came out to try to pull off an upset, eventually fell well short of the mark as they were bowled out by the Australians for a score of 223 runs.

As he recorded a 5-wicket haul, Santner shone with the bat, while Matt Henry claimed 3 wickets.

New Zealand defeated the hosts by 9 wickets in a high-scoring match, giving them their second straight victory to start the tournament after decimating England in the opener.

The Netherlands will play South Africa on October 17, while the Kiwis will play Bangladesh in their next match on October 13.
