Ishan Kishan Also Injured After Hardik Pandya? Team India in Peril Before Match Against New Zealand – Check Details

A teenage wicket-keeper batsman injured himself during a practice session just as Team India was grappling with Hardik Pandya’s exclusion from the team for the forthcoming match against New Zealand in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Despite the fact that Kishan was seen clutching the back of his head as it had been struck, the BCCI reports that it was only a honey bee bite.

After Pandya’s injury, Kishan may be one of the players to earn a spot in the starting lineup. He or Suryakumar Yadav might be seen playing in the middle order for the Men in Blue against the Black Caps if the situation is not severe.

Following scans for his injury in Pune on Thursday, Hardik Pandya is moving to Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy to rehabilitate. The forthcoming game against New Zealand will be lost without him.

In front of this breathtaking backdrop, the Indian team, which is now on a four-match winning streak, will be looking to continue their unblemished record when they face a dangerous New Zealand team on Sunday who are also unbeaten.

Although both New Zealand and India have eight points, the Blackcaps’ higher net run rate puts them ahead of the visitors. The chances are against India since they haven’t defeated New Zealand in an ODI World Cup match in the last 20 years and because they are unsure about their lineup without Hardik Pandya.

When Pandya injured his left ankle while attempting to stop the ball on his follow-through during the league stage encounter against Bangladesh in Pune, there was a brief period of anxiety among the spectators. Pandya did not continue to play in the game.

Given that he has been advised to rest and not go to Dharamshala, with the expectation that he will join the Indian team in Lucknow prior to the match against England on October 29, the team’s think tank must now consider the best combination it can get as a temporary measure without the utterly indispensable Pandya.

India needs at least two players to replace Pandya’s all-around skills because he isn’t available. Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, or Suryakumar Yadav, both pace bowlers, may have a chance to bowl in order to improve the batting strength.

It is uncertain if Shardul Thakur, who has the skillsets that are most similar to those of Pandya, would be kept in the seam-friendly setting or whether Ravichandran Ashwin can replace him. Dharamshala has already shown that it favors spinners.
