James Anderson Takes 700 International Test Wickets, Becoming First Pacer and Third Overall

Dharamsala: During the current fifth Test match between England and India at Dharamsala on Saturday, James Anderson of England became the first pacer and third overall to record 700 Test wickets.

Only Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka and the late Shane Warne of Australia are bowlers who have achieved the desired milestone. The 41-year-old accomplished the feat as the whole stadium rose to applaud the Swing King as Kuldeep Yadav narrowly defeated Ben Foakes.

Warne ended his career with 708 Test wickets, whereas Muralitharan departed at 800. Anderson is behind only by Stuart Broad (604) and Anil Kumble (619).
